Tennessee-Tombigbee (Tenn Tom) Waterway A waterway was first recommended in the mid 1700s. It would be over 200 years before construction would be started. The waterway was completed in 1985. The Bay Springs Lock and Dam (shown) provides an 84 foot lift, and can fill or empty in 12 - 14 minutes. |
